Is there a better place to get news about Sangen's rips or discuss them? Does Sangen use much higher quality copies as the source or only slightly larger files?

@Hogoledo, I don't know exactly what you mean but I use DVDISO with AVS script and I gather all the subtitles attributing the credit of the group or person who made the subtitle. https://imgur.com/a/AZg2HuP
My question was asking, for example, whether you make a 400MB H265 encoded video from a 600MB H264 encoded one -- not only for this anime, but in general. I don't know whether by "DVDISO" you mean a certain software by that name or you mean DVD ISO discs or images. Either way, I suppose your are taking it from the DVD or copy. I think its great how you package so many subtitle files. People should collect the subtitles from anime when they delete videos because they can become hard to find. If you ever try AV1 encoding, beware that only 8 bit decodes quickly enough to play well. For H26[45], You may want to use -tune fastdecode for things higher resolution than DVD to ensure it can play well without high CPU and fans making noise.

@Hogoledo, DVDISO does not have an x264 format, but VOB and most of it exceeds 1GB and I encode in x265 with a standard configuration that a friend passed me by changing only the CRF, I am not concerned with the size of the file, yes with the quality, my encode is not perfect nor the best but and superior to many with which you have to and also always get tips with Puff and sometimes with Galan_rus 2 guys that I admire a lot in this branch. I will always encode from DVDISO and I never intend to reencode it, we already have hikiko123 to make poor quality files available. AV1 is totally out of the question at least for me.
